Engaging Minds: SIDAR’s Inspiring Discussion with Thought Leaders at Dr L Bullayya College, Visakhapatnam
A recent discussion titled ‘Contributions of Nobel Prize winners-2024 in Economics: Institutions, Development, and Democracy in the Indian Context’ was held at Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College, organized by the Society for Integrated Development and Research (SIDAR). The event focused on the impact of institutions on a nation’s prosperity and economic growth. Notable attendees included former Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, D.V.S.S. Somayajulu, former Rector of Andhra University, A. Prasanna Kumar, former Vice-Chancellor of ANU, Guntur, V. Balamohandas, and G. Madhu Kumar, Secretary and Correspondent of Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College.
In his address, Mr. Somayajulu pointed out that India’s industrial output was superior in the 18th century compared to contemporary U.S. production. He attributed the U.S.’s subsequent development to the establishment of strong institutions, highlighting their crucial role as pillars supporting a nation’s success. The gathering served as a platform to underline the essential relationship between robust institutions and a country’s economic development. Principal, Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College, GSK Chakravarty, was also present.
