Shocking Discovery: Security Forces Uncover Massive Arms and Explosives Cache in Manipur’s Bold Operations

In a strategic move to enhance security in high-risk areas, security forces conducted thorough search and area domination operations in the hill and valley districts of Imphal. These efforts were focused on fringe and vulnerable zones, resulting in notable arms recoveries from two crucial sites.

In the Changsang Hill Range of Imphal East District, authorities discovered a significant arsenal. The haul included a locally crafted carbine with a magazine, 13 high-explosive hand grenades, two Chinese-made grenades, two WP smoke grenades, 32 rounds of AK ammunition, and 10 detonators housed in a container. Additional finds comprised a radio set identified as HT-T6, a green ammunition box, and a grenade open key.

Meanwhile, in the Thingom area of Imphal West District, the operations led to the unearthing of more weapons. These included a 9 mm carbine machine with a magazine, a grenade launcher, and a locally manufactured 9 mm pistol with a magazine. The cache also revealed five 36-type hand grenades, 11 rounds of live ammunition, 10 spent cartridges, 10 blank 7.62 mm cartridges, a tube launcher, and a Talkpro wireless communication set. Further discoveries comprised a three-way smoke grenade and a stunt shell.

These operations underscore a robust response to regional threats, improving security and enabling better control in high-risk zones.
