Unstoppable Triumph: Nirmal Kumar Brahma Secures UPPL Support for Sidli Assembly Constituency!
Ahead of the Sidli constituency by-election in Kokrajhar district, the NDA-backed candidate, Nirmal Kumar Brahma, is gaining strong support from the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL). On Wednesday, Assam Cabinet Minister Urkhao Goura Brahma and MLA Lorence Islary spearheaded a comprehensive campaign across the villages of Puthiyagao, Anandbazar, and Dholmara within the Sidli assembly area, urging voters to support Nirmal Kumar Brahma.
Minister Urkhao Goura Brahma addressed the media, expressing confidence in their candidate’s prospects. He downplayed the competition, suggesting that the by-election posed no threat to Nirmal Kumar Brahma’s bid, as no party appeared determined to challenge the UPPL candidate effectively. Instead, the focus, he argued, is on maintaining UPPL’s standing rather than pursuing aggressive victories over rivals.
Additionally, Minister Brahma expressed optimism about Nirmal Kumar Brahma clinching a commendable win in Sidli, highlighting the UPPL’s strategic advantage. Meanwhile, MLA Lorence Islary also campaigned zealously, projecting a victory margin of 80,000 votes for their candidate.
During the campaign, Nirmal Kumar Brahma reassured constituents of his dedication to regional development, promising infrastructural improvements, notably the construction of a much-needed bridge over the Champabati and Kanamakra rivers, if elected.
Furthermore, Minister Brahma praised the tenacity of Hagrama Mohilary from the Bodo People’s Front (BPF), citing her resilience and determination to continue contesting despite previous electoral setbacks.
The ongoing campaign in Sidli underscores the UPPL’s concerted effort to secure a decisive win in the by-election and reflects a robust strategy aimed at consolidating their political influence in the region.
