Tragic Bloodbath in Pakistan: 15 Brave Security Personnel Tragically Killed in 48 Hours | MorungExpress Exclusive
In a surge of violence across Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 15 security personnel have been killed in the past 48 hours, stirring alarm among law enforcement agencies in the already volatile region. The most devastating attack occurred in Dera Ismail Khan, where 10 Frontier Constabulary personnel lost their lives and three others were injured during a targeted assault at a security checkpoint in Darazinda town. The Interior Ministry identified the victims as hailing from South Waziristan and Karak city, while expressing their tribute to the fallen personnel whose sacrifices underscore the resolve to combat terrorism.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a banned militant group, claimed responsibility for this attack, labeling it as retaliation for a military operation that resulted in the deaths of at least nine TTP members in the Bajaur district. Concurrently, targeted attacks by armed gunmen also claimed the lives of three security personnel in Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts. In Bannu’s Jani Khel area, a police patrol fell victim to gunfire, resulting in the deaths of Station House Officer Rehman and Constable Mir Syed.
Tragically, in the Lakki Marwat district, a 19-year-old under-training soldier, Arifullah, was killed inside a mosque during evening prayers. The Inter-Services Public Relations condemned the mosque attack, emphasizing the militants’ brutality. In South Waziristan, another soldier was martyred at a security checkpoint, while two police officers were critically injured in a Wana explosion. Furthermore, in Khyber district, an officer was gunned down inside the Malagori police station.
The frequency and coordination of these attacks have intensified in recent months, with Pakistan accusing the Taliban government in Afghanistan of providing support to the TTP’s terror operations. The escalating violence marks a troubling chapter in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, challenging the region’s stability and security.
