Breaking: Pradyot Fights for Justice—Seeks 25 Seats in Emotional Second Round of Tiprasa Accord Talks in November
Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, founder of Tipra Motha and royal scion of Tripura, announced that the second round of Tiprasa Accord talks is slated for the third week of November in New Delhi. During a Facebook Live session, he disclosed that officials from the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council will attend the discussions.
In the initial talks held in September, Pradyot pushed for significant demands, including the allocation of 25 out of 60 seats in the Tripura Legislative Assembly for Tipra Motha and a reserved seat for the Manipuri community. He highlighted the difficulty of negotiating with the Indian government, emphasizing that his demands remain firm to avoid weakening his position.
Pradyot’s broader demands include direct funding, land rights, a central university, a hospital, and recognition of Kokborok and other native languages in the 8th Schedule. He also seeks a development board for tea gardens and an AIIMS-like university. Pradyot made it clear that he would not compromise until these goals are achieved, stressing that commitment to the community transcends politics.
Furthermore, he criticized the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for its 25-year rule in Tripura, implying that it did not adequately address these regional concerns. Pradyot’s relentless pursuit of these demands marks a significant step in his strategy to ensure a brighter future for the Tiprasa community.
