Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Inspects Wadi Bunder Coaching Depot in Mumbai
Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted a thorough inspection of the Wadi Bunder Coaching Depot in Mumbai today. During the visit, he reviewed the depot’s infrastructure, technical advancements, and future expansion plans, with a primary focus on passenger safety, cleanliness, and service reliability.
Minister Vaishnaw commended the depot for its efforts in maintaining a hygienic environment, highlighting innovations like an in-house designed litter collector showcased at the ‘Best from Waste’ exhibition. Demonstrating his commitment to passenger comfort, he personally used advanced cleaning equipment, including a Dyson vacuum cleaner utilized in the ’14-Minute Miracle’ cleaning process for the Vande Bharat Express.
The inspection also included a visit to the Vande Bharat Store, which houses essential spare parts for Vande Bharat trains, as well as the Basic Training Centre, where in-house models for LHB coach training were observed to enhance safety and service standards. At the Integrated Data Centre, Minister Vaishnaw interacted with the RailMadad team responsible for managing passenger complaints. Additionally, he was briefed on a newly developed app designed to manage fire extinguishers within the depot.
