Air Marshal Surat Singh Takes Command of Eastern Air Command
Shillong: Air Marshal Surat Singh has formally assumed the role of Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Eastern Air Command, with its headquarters located in Shillong.
A distinguished officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Marshal Singh began his career in the fighter stream in December 1986, bringing nearly 40 years of dedicated service to his new position.
Prior to this prominent appointment, Air Marshal Singh served as the Director General of Air Operations at Air Headquarters. In this capacity, he was instrumental in supervising and coordinating air operations across the nation, underscoring his strategic importance within the IAF.
Air Marshal Singh’s extensive career also includes commanding a frontline Air Force Station, further establishing his reputation as a skilled leader and strategist. His advanced military education was reinforced at the prestigious Command and Staff College in Australia, enhancing his credentials within the service.
He has held multiple key appointments that significantly contributed to the operational preparedness and strategic planning of the IAF.
