PM Modi’s Empowering U.S. Visit: A Historic Three-Day Journey
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a significant three-day visit to the United States, marked by a series of strategic meetings and high-level engagements.
The visit kicks off with the 4th annual Quad leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware. During this summit, leaders are anticipated to discuss a variety of pressing issues, including climate change and critical emerging technologies. Prime Minister Modi will also hold a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden and other leaders from the Quad grouping.
In a departure statement, Modi expressed his enthusiasm for joining President Biden, Prime Minister Albanese, and Prime Minister Kishida at the Quad Summit, emphasizing the forum’s role in fostering peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. He highlighted that his meeting with President Biden would provide an opportunity to deepen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
Following the Quad Summit, Modi will travel to New York, where he plans to engage with the Indian community on June 22. Additionally, he is scheduled to meet top executives from leading US-based companies to explore collaborations in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, and Semiconductors. The Prime Minister underscored his eagerness to interact with the Indian diaspora and key American business leaders, describing them as vital contributors to the unique partnership between the world’s largest and oldest democracies.
On the final day of his visit, Modi will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The summit, themed ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow,’ aims to enhance global cooperation on critical international challenges. Modi stated that this platform offers an opportunity for the global community to chart a course for humanity’s betterment, and he intends to voice the perspectives of one-sixth of humanity, underscoring their significant stakes in a peaceful and secure future.
This visit is a critical step in strengthening India’s international ties, emphasizing cooperation and collaboration on multiple fronts.
