Bollywood actress Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Arora, tragically passed away on Monday. Reports indicate that Anil Arora died by suicide, allegedly jumping off the terrace of their Mumbai residence. The incident occurred around 10.30 am at Ayesha Manor in Bandra West. DCP Zone 9, Raj Tilak Roshan, confirmed the preliminary assessment of suicide and noted that the body was being taken for post-mortem. Forensic teams are actively investigating the scene to uncover all possible angles.
Malaika Arora was reportedly in Pune and rushed back to Mumbai upon receiving the devastating news. Her ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, and his family, including Salim Khan, Salma Khan, Sohail Khan, and Alvira Khan Agnihotri, were seen arriving at the Arora residence to offer support.
Initially, there were conflicting reports about the nature of Anil Arora’s death. Sources had suggested it was an accident, but police clarified that a suicide note has not been found, and the exact reason for his drastic action remains unclear.
Anil Arora, who hailed from Fazilka near the Indian border, served in the Indian Merchant Navy. He was married to Joyce Polycarp, with whom he had two daughters, Malaika and Amrita Arora. The couple’s marriage ended when Malaika was 11 and Amrita was 6. In recent years, Anil faced health issues and was hospitalized in July 2023. Malaika celebrated Christmas in 2022 with both parents.
The police continue to investigate, ensuring a thorough examination of circumstances surrounding the incident. The news of Anil Arora’s untimely demise has left family, friends, and the film fraternity in deep shock and sadness.
