Arunachal MLA’s Inspiring School Visit Sparks Major Education Reforms in Papum Pare District
Ratu Techi, the newly elected MLA of Sagalee Assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh’s Papum Pare district, has initiated a thorough tour of government schools in the area. As a former superintending engineer of the Public Works Department, Techi aims to evaluate the current educational landscape and introduce meaningful reforms.
Over the course of a week, Techi, along with administrative officials and local leaders, visited schools in six circles: Silsango, Mengio, Parang, Leporiang, Sagalee, and Toru. This initiative is in line with the state government’s directive to prepare for the rollout of the New Education Policy.
A significant outcome of this assessment is the proposal to consolidate schools with low or zero enrollment into inter-village residential institutions. This strategy is anticipated to optimize resource allocation and improve the overall quality of education in the region.
Techi has identified four priority areas for enhancement: teaching quality, digital learning, physical education, and the integration of life skills into the curriculum. He emphasized the need for a holistic educational approach that equips students to face future challenges effectively.
The MLA believes that these proposed changes will lead to more efficient school management and create a better learning environment for students.
