The operation, overseen by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South), was conducted near the villages of Machi and Khampang Khullen. During routine patrols, Assam Rifles personnel intercepted and inspected several suspicious vehicles, leading to the discovery of 28,200 kilograms of areca nuts.
Following the seizure, the contraband was handed over to the customs department for further investigation. The six arrested individuals are currently in the custody of the local police.
