Revealed: Heart-Wrenching Truth – Kolkata Rape-Murder Accused Didn’t Act Alone, Claims Tearful Mother-in-Law
As the investigation into the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata intensifies, new revelations have emerged. Durga Devi, mother-in-law of the accused Sanjoy Roy, suggested the involvement of additional individuals in the crime. Speaking to ANI, she expressed doubts about Roy’s sole culpability, citing a troubled history between Roy and her daughter.
Durga Devi detailed her strained relationship with Roy, highlighting abusive behavior that led to a police complaint. She revealed that despite an initial six-month period of relative peace, her daughter suffered a miscarriage due to Roy’s actions when she was three months pregnant. Durga Devi firmly believes that Roy couldn’t have acted alone.
The heinous crime has ignited widespread protests, with demands for justice echoing across multiple cities. The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the case, scheduling a hearing for August 20 under a bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud.
Agency sources confirmed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been permitted to conduct a polygraph test on Roy. On August 18, the CBI carried out a 3D laser mapping of the crime scene at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital’s emergency ward, where the doctor was discovered dead on August 9.
Additionally, the West Bengal government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate financial irregularities at RG Kar Hospital dating back to January 2021. The SIT, headed by IG Pranav Kumar and including officials Murshidabad Range DIG Waquar Reza, West Bengal CID DIG Soma Das Mitra, and Kolkata (Central) DC Indira Mukherjee, is expected to submit an initial report to the state government within a month.
The pursuit of justice for the trainee doctor remains fervent, with multiple investigative bodies actively working to uncover the truth behind the tragic incident.
