The CBI is investigating Sandip Ghosh’s call records and chat history. Ghosh, the controversial former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, is under intense scrutiny in the probe into the rape and murder of a doctor. For the past three days, Ghosh has faced exhaustive questioning sessions extending till midnight, and he has been summoned again today by the CBI.
Key questions posed to Ghosh include: Why was there a rush to declare the death a suicide? As a doctor, why didn’t he ensure the crime scene was preserved? On whose advice did he inform the family with incomplete facts? Why did he allow tampering with evidence? Why was there a delay in informing and showing the body to the family? What are the hospital’s security arrangements? Why did he resign immediately following the incident?
Officials indicate that Ghosh has yet to provide satisfactory answers. The CBI has also questioned him about his actions immediately after the doctor’s body was discovered and the subsequent sudden renovation of nearby rooms. The probe extends to his phone calls and data usage, with efforts underway to retrieve these details from the service provider.
The incident on August 9 has incited widespread anger, with doctors across the nation suspending non-emergency duties and demonstrating for justice.
