Shocking Finale: Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Concludes in Just 5 Chapters on September 30!
Gege Akutami’s acclaimed manga series “JUJUTSU KAISEN” is set to conclude in just five more chapters, with the final installment scheduled for September 30, 2024. This end marks a remarkable 6-and-a-half-year run since its debut in March 2018. The announcement came via a special Shonen Jump livestream, underscoring the series’ significant impact on the manga community.
“JUJUTSU KAISEN,” penned and illustrated by Akutami, boasts an impressive 266 chapters and has been compiled into 27 volumes. The series has achieved remarkable commercial success, recently surpassing 90 million copies in circulation, cementing its status as one of the best-selling manga.
The narrative follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student with extraordinary physical abilities, who becomes entangled in a world of curses after ingesting the finger of Ryomen Sukuna. This act binds him to Sukuna, the King of Curses, and catapults him into a life of sorcery and danger, under the guidance of the powerful sorcerer Satoru Gojo.
The manga’s popularity fueled a successful anime adaptation by studio MAPPA. The first season aired in 2018 with 24 episodes, while the second season, consisting of 23 episodes, was released in 2023. Additionally, MAPPA produced a prequel movie that premiered in Japan in 2021 and internationally in March 2022.
As the series approaches its conclusion, it will be the second major ending for Shonen Jump this year, following the closure of Kohei Horikoshi’s “My Hero Academia” on August 5. Fans can stream the “JUJUTSU KAISEN” anime on Crunchyroll, which provides a detailed description of the storyline and characters.
