Amid Switchover Buzz: Hemant Soren’s Aide Rallies in Delhi – Unveil a Dramatic Turning Point!
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has brushed off speculations about his potential shift to the BJP. Arriving in New Delhi, Soren’s visit has sparked political chatter ahead of this year’s Jharkhand assembly elections. Soren dismissed questions about his rumored defection, stating at Delhi’s IGI Airport, “I have come here for my personal work.” Despite this, sources reveal he met BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata a day prior. Accompanied by four JMM leaders, Soren’s trip has fueled speculation, particularly with scheduled meetings with BJP leaders during his stay.
Soren, who briefly served as Jharkhand’s Chief Minister earlier this year after Hemant Soren was arrested in a money laundering case, resigned in July, allowing Hemant Soren to return to office. While the timing of his visit raises eyebrows, Soren described recent dealings, including a meeting with former JMM legislator Lobin Hembrom, as routine.
The BJP has been actively holding meetings in Jharkhand, including sessions with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. However, when probed about Soren’s potential affiliation, Sarma stated, “No one is in touch with us yet. I am also hearing these reports from the channels. Champai Soren is a very senior leader, I do not want to make any informal comment about him.”
Former Jharkhand BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash reiterated that the decision rests with the party’s central leadership, adding, “I have heard this in reports only. I don’t have any authentic information… He was serving Jharkhand as a good CM… Everything depends on the central leadership.”
Despite the circulating rumors, Soren remains non-committal, underscoring his current position and denying knowledge of the speculations.
