Nagaland Lottery Sambad: Key Information and Guidelines
Lottery games are prohibited across most of India, with exceptions in 13 states, including Nagaland. These states have allowed lottery activities since 1967 and include Assam, Mizoram, Kerala, Meghalaya, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal, and Sikkim.
Established in 1972 by the Nagaland State Finance Department, the Nagaland State Lottery aims to provide consistent revenue for the government. Lotteries are held three times daily: morning, day, and evening, seven days a week. Daily lotteries, marketed under names like Dear Morning, Dear Day, and Dear Evening, offer tickets priced at Rs 6, with a top prize of Rs 1 crore.
The Director of Nagaland State Lotteries manages the operations, which occur at P. R. Hill Junction, Kohima, 797001. Winning participants must:
- Submit a lottery claim form with their original, undamaged ticket.
- Provide a government-approved photo ID and passport-size photos.
- Ensure the ticket is untouched by tampering or damage.
Distributors are authorized to pay prizes up to Rs 10,000 immediately. Claims above this amount need to be submitted to the Director or Nodal Office within 30 days of the draw. Proper documentation, including a signed original ticket and claim forms, ensures payment within 60 days.
