Nagaland Government Addresses Threat Against Businessman by NSCN (Khango)
Dimapur: The Nagaland government has taken serious note of death threats and a capital punishment order issued to K Rüho, proprietor of M/s KKB Rüho, by the NSCN (Khango) faction.
In an official statement released on Saturday, state government spokesperson and minister for power and parliamentary affairs, KG Kenye, confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the NSCN (Khango) and its members under relevant legal sections for this crime.
Kenye reiterated the state government’s stance from April 2024, highlighting that any threats or coercive actions, whether by underground groups in a ceasefire or otherwise, constitute criminal offences and will be addressed legally. "The state government reiterates the same and will ensure peace and tranquillity in Nagaland which is essential for economic development and prosperity," he stated.
The state government has engaged with the chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group/Ceasefire Supervisory Board to ensure that the NSCN (Khango) and other factions strictly follow the ceasefire ground rules.
Meanwhile, the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has announced a public rally at the Old MLA junction, Phoolbari in Kohima on August 6 at 11 am. The rally aims to protest against illegal taxation, harassment, intimidation, and death threats faced by the general public.
The AYO has called for widespread participation and support from all concerned citizens and organizations. “People participating in the public rally are requested to wear traditional attire of their respective communities,” AYO added.
This concerted effort by both the state government and civic organizations underlines the commitment to ensuring safety, peace, and economic progress in Nagaland.
