Congress Demands Accountability: Explosive Corruption Allegations Rock AINRC-BJP Government!

Former Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy has questioned Lieutenant Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan on actions taken regarding corruption allegations raised by Independent legislator P. Angalane against the AINRC-BJP government. At a press conference on July 22, 2024, Narayanasamy emphasized the gravity of the accusations made by Angalane, a supporter of the ruling party, against Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and Home Minister A. Namassivayam.

Citing Angalane’s TV interview, Narayanasamy highlighted claims about “brokers” in the offices of Rangasamy and Namassivayam, who allegedly demanded bribes from job applicants once their files reached the Chief Minister’s office. Narayanasamy called for the Lt. Governor to initiate a probe into these serious allegations.

The former Chief Minister also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning his awareness of these corruption issues, despite his public commitment to curbing corruption. He pointed out that BJP legislator A. John Kumar had been scrutinized for attempting to encroach on temple land, which he eventually surrendered following court intervention.

Narayanasamy expressed disappointment with the Chief Minister’s lack of response to the corruption charges and other criticisms. He argued that the government’s approach had remained unchanged even after the BJP’s defeat in the Puducherry Lok Sabha seat, where the BJP candidate failed to secure more votes than the opponent in his own constituency. Narayanasamy suggested that the Chief Minister should have resigned following the electoral loss.

These developments raise significant concerns about the integrity and governance of the current administration in Puducherry, calling for urgent attention and action from both local and national authorities.
