Shillong: Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) Collaborates with PRIME Meghalaya for Impact Week
Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) in Shillong partnered with PRIME Meghalaya to host the much-anticipated Impact Week from July 4 to July 11, aiming to nurture innovation and leadership among aspiring young leaders. The week-long event focused on addressing critical issues in Meghalaya, including pollution, sustainable tourism, youth employment, and waste management.
Impact Week commenced with a three-day training program designed to equip junior coaches with vital skills and strategies essential for mentoring the next generation of innovators. Junior coaches then led training sessions for students from 15 different institutions across Meghalaya, engaging them in hands-on workshops, collaborative activities, and creative problem-solving exercises.
This significant collaboration underlines MLCU’s commitment to fostering young talent and promoting community engagement through impactful educational initiatives. Impact Week provided a platform for students to explore innovative thinking and develop practical solutions to real-world challenges facing their state.
The event’s grand finale was honored by the presence of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and other dignitaries. Chief Minister Sangma lauded the creativity and dedication of the young innovators and highlighted the CM-ELEVATE initiative. This aggressive entrepreneurship program aims to support and finance 20,000 entrepreneurs from the state, with a substantial subsidy allocation of ₹300 to 400 crore.
The successful conclusion of Impact Week marked a significant milestone in MLCU’s mission to cultivate future leaders and address pressing social and environmental issues through education and innovation.
