Shocking Survey: Joe Biden’s Plummeting Popularity Among Indian Americans Revealed Ahead of Crucial US Presidential Polls
A recent survey has revealed a significant decline in support for U.S. President Joe Biden among Indian Americans. The Asian American Voter Survey (AAVS), published on Wednesday, indicates a 19 percent drop in Biden’s approval within this demographic, with 46 percent planning to vote for him in the 2024 presidential election compared to 65 percent in 2020. Conversely, former President Donald Trump has seen a modest increase, gaining 2 percent from his previous 28 percent support to 30 percent.
The survey also found that while Biden’s overall support among Asian Americans has decreased by 8 percent from 2020, Trump’s has risen by just one point. Specifically, 46 percent of respondents said they are likely to vote for Biden (down from 54 percent in 2020), and 31 percent leaned towards Trump (up from 30 percent).
Despite this shift, Asian Americans predominantly favor Democratic candidates over Republicans for Congressional seats. The survey sampled 2,479 Asian American voters across six major ethnic groups, including Chinese, Indian, Filipino, Korean, Vietnamese, and Japanese. It was conducted before the June 27 debate between Biden and Trump.
Among the pressing issues for Asian American voters are jobs and the economy (86% importance), inflation (85%), healthcare (85%), crime (80%), education (80%), Social Security and Medicare (79%), housing costs (78%), national security (77%), gun control (73%), and immigration (71%).
Asian American voters have emerged as one of the fastest-growing racial or ethnic groups in the U.S. over the past two decades. The survey highlights their increasing political impact, noting significant voter turnout in the 2020 presidential election and 2018 midterms, particularly in battleground states like Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The decline in Indian American support for Biden could be pivotal in these key regions, possibly influencing the outcome of the upcoming elections.
