Shocking Discovery: Bizarre Cattle Smuggling Technique Uncovered Near Indo-Bangladesh Border in Assam’s Dhubri District
In a shocking revelation, authorities have uncovered a new, inhumane technique for smuggling cattle into Bangladesh, where cows are tied to banana tree trunks. This disturbing method was observed just 100 meters from the border fence in Bishkhowa, located on the Indo-Bangla border in Golokganj, Dhubri.
The discovery came to light when Kanu Biswas, a local fisherman, noticed a cow tied cruelly to a banana tree trunk on the banks of the Vishkhowa River during the night. Acting responsibly, Biswas immediately informed the village guard, who in turn alerted the police. Reacting swiftly, the police rushed to the scene and managed to rescue five cows.
This incident underscores the extreme and increasingly unconventional tactics employed by smugglers, often at the expense of the animals’ well-being. Authorities have launched an investigation to further probe the case, aiming to thwart such illicit activities and to ensure that animals are treated humanely.
This case exemplifies the lengths smugglers will go to bypass border security, and highlights the need for stringent measures to combat such practices. The establishment is now focused on preventing future occurrences and safeguarding animal welfare.
