Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has announced the successful signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between universities in Mizoram and Taiwan. The agreement, he hopes, will pave the way for enhanced cooperation and progress among Taiwan, India, and Mizoram. “We have already signed a MoU between our universities,” the Chief Minister said.

The development was part of a series of significant engagements by CM Lalduhoma aimed at fostering growth and collaboration for the state. This follows his visit to New Delhi on July 6, where he held pivotal discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.

During his meeting with Prime Minister Modi, the Mizoram Chief Minister discussed various developmental initiatives for the state. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirmed the discussions, stating, “Chief Minister of Mizoram, Shri Lalduhoma, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Following his interaction with the Prime Minister, Lalduhoma engaged in a productive dialogue with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, who hails from Arunachal Pradesh. Minister Rijiju hosted the Chief Minister at his residence in New Delhi. He later took to social media to express his satisfaction with the meeting, posting, “Met the Hon’ble CM of Mizoram, Lalduhoma at my residence in New Delhi today. It was a pleasure to host him and engage in meaningful interactions for the development of Mizoram.”

These high-level meetings underscore a concerted effort by the Mizoram administration to bolster the state’s development agenda through strategic collaborations and alliances. The newly inked MoU with Taiwanese universities is expected to bring significant academic and research advancements, contributing positively to Mizoram’s educational landscape and fostering international cooperation.

As the Mizoram government continues to seek opportunities for enhancing its developmental trajectory, the agreements and discussions underscore the administration’s proactive approach to engaging with both national and international partners.
