Tapi Darang Flags Off Swachhata Vahaan for Swachhata Hi Seva 2024
Pasighat East MLA Tapi Darang inaugurated the Swachhata Vahaan as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 initiative, an event organized to heighten awareness about effective waste management and encourage public involvement in cleanliness efforts. This significant event was organized by the Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC) at Mahatma Gandhi Chowk within Pasighat’s bustling main market.
The flag-off ceremony saw prominent attendance from key figures including Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, Superintendent of Police Sachin Kr. Singhal, PMC Chief Councilor Okiam Moyong Borang, Deputy Chief Councilor Rebecca Panyang Megu, along with other government dignitaries and members of the market welfare committee.
The Swachhata Vahaan will undertake an extensive door-to-door and ward-to-ward campaign focusing on garbage segregation and boosting mass public participation. This initiative is set to continue until October 2, aiming to instill a culture of cleanliness and communal responsibility among residents.
MLA Darang called on Pasighat residents to actively engage in the campaign and support PMC’s daily garbage collection efforts. Reinforcing the collective commitment to a cleaner environment, Deputy Commissioner Taggu led the gathering in taking the Swachhata pledge.
In related news, the Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (APMCC) and Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) have demanded the immediate implementation of a 33 percent women reservation bill in Pasighat.
The Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 initiative underscores the importance of collaborative community involvement in waste management and highlights the efforts being made toward achieving a cleaner, sustainable environment in Pasighat.
