Union Home Minister Amit Shah today called for enhanced cooperation and coordination between the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Anti-terrorism Squads to fortify the counter-terrorism framework. Speaking on the second day of the National Security Strategies Conference – 2024 in New Delhi, Shah urged state Directors General of Police (DGPs) to strive towards achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a prosperous, strong, and developed India by 2047.
Shah presented a comprehensive strategy to bolster counter-terrorism measures, including collaboration with international agencies and increased efforts to prevent terror financing. He expressed satisfaction with the successes in anti-Maoist operations but advised states that recently liberated areas from armed formations to remain vigilant.
Highlighting significant progress in addressing long-standing national security issues such as Jammu and Kashmir, Left Wing Extremism, and the North-East, Shah emphasized the importance of identifying and tackling emerging threats. These include narcotics, rogue drones, and online fraud.
By promoting a unified approach and proactive measures, Shah’s remarks underscore the necessity of adapting to evolving security challenges to ensure national stability and development.
