The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the date sheet for the 2027 board examinations shortly, offering students and schools a clear roadmap of exam dates, timings and subject details well ahead of the tests. Once published, the date sheet will be available in PDF format on the board’s official website, from where students can download it directly.
The announcement is being closely watched by lakhs of students preparing for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams. Last year, the board released a tentative date sheet on September 24, followed by the final date sheet on October 30, and the examinations began on February 17. If CBSE follows a similar schedule this year, students can expect the provisional timetable soon, with a confirmed version to follow. The document will carry key information including examination dates and timings, subject codes and subject names, helping candidates plan their revision and preparation effectively.
Meanwhile, the registration process for the 2027 examinations has moved forward, with CBSE closing the portal for the submission of the candidates’ list and related details on October 21 for those paying the normal fee. The List of Candidates, commonly referred to as LOC, is the official record schools submit to the board confirming which students are eligible to appear for the exams and the subjects they will be tested in.
The board had earlier issued clear directions to schools regarding this submission process. Schools were asked to provide accurate data of their students, ensure that the subjects offered by each candidate were correctly recorded, and submit the LOC within the prescribed schedule. They were also directed to make sure the list covered all eligible students and that the examination fee was paid on time. All school principals were specifically requested to ensure their institution’s LOC was submitted within the deadline as per the directions issued, since any errors or delays could affect students’ eligibility and exam-related arrangements.
In a bid to simplify these procedures, CBSE also organised a live question-and-answer webinar on September 29, focused on the relevance of registration and the submission of the List of Candidates for the 2027 board examinations. The session gave schools and stakeholders a platform to seek clarifications directly from the board, reflecting CBSE’s stated effort to make examination-related processes more student-friendly and transparent.
With the registration window now closed and the timeline mirroring last year’s pattern, attention shifts to the release of the date sheet. Students are advised to regularly check the CBSE’s official website for updates, download the document as soon as it is made available, and verify their exam dates, timings and subject codes carefully once published.
