Triumph and Honor: Karaikal Police Constables Named Cyber Commandos in Prestigious National Initiative
Police Constables T. Vinoth Kumar and K. Iyyappan from the Cyber Crime Cell in Karaikal have been designated as cyber commandos under a new initiative spearheaded by the Union Home Ministry. This selection was made during the inauguration of the Cyber Commando Wing at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, organized by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).
The high-profile event, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, highlighted the Cyber Commando Wing as a pivotal government strategy to counter cyber threats and secure digital spaces. The elite unit comprises around 350 cyber commandos chosen through a stringent selection process overseen by I4C, evaluating candidates’ cyber skills meticulously.
These cyber commandos will receive specialized training from national-level cyber crime experts and will collaborate with local police to address cyber threats effectively, coordinated by I4C. Senior Superintendent of Police Manish of Karaikal lauded the Cyber Crime Cell team, emphasizing that this achievement would substantially enhance the district’s capacity to combat cyber crime.
