Agartala, 26 July 2026 — Assam Rifles marked the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas across Tripura with solemn ceremonies and community events in Radhanagar and Agartala to honour the soldiers who fell during the 1999 Kargil War. The observances included a wreath-laying ceremony, a screening of a documentary on Operation Vijay, patriotic programmes for students and a blood donation camp, underscoring the Force’s commitment to remembrance and public service.
Officers, junior commissioned officers and other ranks paid floral tributes at Shaurya Sthals during a formal wreath-laying ceremony that honoured the courage and sacrifice of Kargil martyrs. A documentary on Operation Vijay was screened for local residents and students to highlight the determination and gallantry of the Indian Armed Forces and to educate younger generations about the conflict and its significance.
Assam Rifles Public School held student-led activities to mark the day, featuring patriotic group songs, poem recitations, drawing competitions and inspirational speeches. The school events aimed to instill values of courage, service and national pride while fostering respect for the armed forces among pupils.
In Agartala, Assam Rifles organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with GBP Hospital. Ex-servicemen, civilians and Assam Rifles personnel participated enthusiastically, donating blood to support community healthcare needs. Medical teams from GBP Hospital managed the camp and ensured all procedures followed prescribed medical protocols.
