Recovering Warriors Raise Rs 89,094 for Keyi Panyor Flood Relief
Recovering Warriors, a group of recovering addiction survivors, raised Rs 89,094 in a three-day flood relief drive held at local markets from July 3 to July 5 to help families affected by recent floods in Keyi Panyor district, Arunachal Pradesh. The campaign took place at Oyan Main Market, Ruksin Main Market and Pasighat Main Market, with donations accepted in cash and via authorised digital payment platforms.
Pasighat recorded the largest collection, amounting to Rs 38,471, followed by Rs 28,340 at Oyan and Rs 22,283 at Ruksin, organisers said. Volunteers and members of Recovering Warriors managed the stalls and payment channels during the three-day effort.
The total funds were handed over to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Ruksin in Siang district and subsequently transferred to the Deputy Commissioner of Keyi Panyor district’s Relief Fund to support immediate relief and essential assistance for flood-affected families.
Recovering Warriors representative Mohan Tamut expressed gratitude to residents of Oyan, Ruksin, Pasighat and neighbouring areas for their contributions, saying the community response was vital to reaching those hardest hit by the floods.
