Zilla Parishad Member of the 03‑Nedo constituency, Kalley Rijuju, joined by Gram Panchayat members, chairpersons and residents of the Nedo/Lada Circle, has demanded the immediate commencement of earth‑cutting work for the Arunachal Frontier Highway in Bichom district, saying prolonged delays are unacceptable and harming local development.
The demand covers the highway stretch from 9th Mile to Lada/Nedo, including the package that falls within Nedo Circle. Local leaders say this section must be prioritised so construction can move forward without further holdups.
Expressing frustration over the slow pace of work, Rijuju said residents are eagerly awaiting the start of construction and warned that continued inaction could trigger public protests. He added that if authorities and contractors do not begin the project soon, local people will be forced to mount democratic agitations to protect their developmental interests.
Rijuju urged the relevant departments to take immediate steps to ensure timely implementation of the strategically important Arunachal Frontier Highway, saying the road is crucial to improving connectivity and boosting development across the region.
