NEET পৰীক্ষাৰ্থীৰ বাবে ১৫ মিনিট অতিরিক্ত সময় — ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় পৰীক্ষণ সংস্থাৰ ঘোষণা
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a set of candidate‑focused changes for the NIT UG exam scheduled on June 21, 2026, the agency said in an official notice published on June 12, 2026. The stated aim of the adjustments is to improve the exam’s fairness and security while making the testing experience more convenient for candidates.
One major change raises the exam duration to 195 minutes (3 hours 15 minutes). On exam day the test will run from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. NTA clarified that this time window includes necessary pre‑exam formalities-such as signing attendance and routine invigilation checks-so that candidates do not lose writing time to administrative procedures and can devote full attention to the question paper.
NTA will also increase the number of rough/working pages provided with each question paper from two to four. Two of the sheets will be placed immediately after the instruction page and the remaining two toward the end of the booklet. The change is intended to give candidates sufficient space for calculations, notes or diagrams and is expected to help left‑handed candidates for whom the earlier arrangement was sometimes inconvenient. The additional pages will be available with question papers in both English and the regional language.
The agency noted that even small procedural improvements can positively affect candidate performance. Maintaining a secure, well‑managed exam environment while offering practical comforts for examinees remains NTA’s stated priority.
Candidates are urged to read the instructions on their admit cards and in the information bulletin carefully and to cooperate with centre staff to ensure smooth conduct of the examination. For further queries, NTA can be contacted at +91‑11‑40759000 or by email at nitug2026@nta.ac.in.
