Breaking: Iran Sends Negotiation Proposal to US via Pakistan — Reuters

Iran has sent a proposal for negotiations with the United States to mediators in Pakistan, Iranian state media and several international outlets reported. According to Reuters and corroborating coverage from The Hindu and The Times of Israel, Tehran routed the latest diplomatic offer through Pakistani intermediaries as it seeks a channel for talks with Washington. It was not immediately clear whether U.S. officials had received the proposal or how they would respond.

Reports differ on the proposal’s contents. Axios says Iran offered a deal tied to reopening a strategic shipping route — reported as a move to reopen the strait — while asking to postpone separate nuclear talks. Those reports suggest Tehran may be attempting to trade operational or regional concessions for breathing room on its nuclear negotiations. Iranian state outlets framed the move as a bid to open a diplomatic door through Pakistan’s mediation.

The developments come amid rising tensions across the region and ongoing confrontation between Iran and Israel, which has been widely covered as an intensifying conflict. Bloomberg reports that, even as mediatory channels appear active, U.S. pressure on Iran remains high, with statements from U.S. leaders emphasizing continued measures — including naval operations — to restrict Iranian capabilities and influence.

Analysts say using Pakistan as a conduit highlights Islamabad’s unique diplomatic position and the limits of direct U.S.–Iran engagement. If verified and acted upon, the proposal could alter short-term dynamics: easing maritime risks if the strait issue is addressed, or complicating international efforts to revive or renegotiate nuclear frameworks if talks are deferred.

At this stage the accounts are based on a mix of state media and international reporting; independent confirmation and any formal responses from Washington, Tehran or Islamabad were not available in initial reports.
