
Sivasagar, Assam Shines: HSLC 2026 2nd Place-84.08% Pass Rate
Sivasagar district in Assam secured the second-highest position statewide in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026, registering a pass percentage of 84.08 per cent, district officials announced. This result marks a notable achievement for the district in the state examinations held this year.
According to official figures, 8,726 candidates appeared for the HSLC exam across 32 educational centres in Sivasagar, of whom 7,337 students passed.
A division-wise breakdown shows 3,006 candidates in First Division, 3,539 in Second Division and 792 in Third Division.
The district’s performance represents an improvement from HSLC 2025, when Sivasagar recorded a pass rate of 81.24 per cent, indicating a positive upward trend in academic outcomes.
Sharing the results at a press address, AES-I Dr. Samiron Bora credited the achievement to the combined efforts of students, teachers and the education department, and noted ongoing measures to strengthen learning and teaching standards. “This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our students and educators. The improvement in the pass percentage compared to last year is encouraging and motivates us to strive for even better results in the future,” Dr. Bora said.
The strong showing in HSLC 2026 reinforces Sivasagar’s commitment to educational excellence and its growing reputation as one of Assam’s top-performing districts.
