Shocking Discovery: Six Arrested for Drug Use in Moinabad Farmhouse Raid!
A significant raid took place on the night of March 14 at a farmhouse owned by former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy in Moinabad, resulting in the detention of ten individuals. Among those apprehended were Putta Mahesh Kumar, a Member of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh representing the Telugu Desam Party, and Rohith Reddy himself, affiliated with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). The operation, conducted by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), uncovered approximately two grams of cocaine and indicated wider narcotics usage among the group present.
Authorities confirmed that the individuals detained included a mix of local businessmen and associates, such as Moraganeni Ramesh, a 49-year-old real estate entrepreneur from Manikonda, and V. Sravan Kumar, a 40-year-old private employee from the same area. Other notable figures apprehended were Namith Sharma, 42, a construction associate from Delhi, and Rohith Reddy’s brother, Ritesh Reddy, a 40-year-old businessman also from Manikonda. Others included Nallapuneni Vijaya Krishna and Kaushik Ravi, both local businessmen, along with Arjun Reddy, a 34-year-old businessman, and K. Sarayu Reddy, a resident of Himayathnagar.
Preliminary drug tests indicated that six individuals, including Ritesh Reddy and Sharma, had consumed narcotics. Following the raid, Mr. Rohith Reddy, Mr. Ritesh Reddy, and Mr. Sharma were remanded to 14 days in judicial custody at Chanchalguda Jail, with their next hearing scheduled for March 27. The remaining detainees were released on station bail.
The raid unfolded dramatically around 9:30 p.m. after EAGLE received a tip-off about a party involving illegal substances at the farmhouse. Officials faced initial resistance from security personnel and Rohith Reddy, which delayed their entry. Reports suggest that during the commotion, Namith Sharma allegedly discharged a firearm three times in an attempt to evade arrest, prompting investigators to collect gunshot residue (GSR) samples.
The weapon used in the incident was identified as belonging to Ritesh Reddy. EAGLE Director Sandeep Shandilya has since stated that the case has been referred to the Moinabad police for further investigation. The authorities emphasized that this raid is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities in the region, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
The incident raises pressing questions about drug use among prominent figures and the enforcement of narcotics laws within Telangana. As the investigation continues, the community is watching closely, particularly given the high-profile nature of those involved. The situation reflects broader issues associated with narcotics in India and highlights the need for vigilance within society and law enforcement.
News regarding this raid and its implications will continue to unfold as authorities delve deeper into the case, ensuring that all aspects are addressed comprehensively. Details regarding the outcomes of the judicial custody and further investigations are awaited, particularly as the public and media remain engaged with ongoing developments in this significant story.
