Justice for All: Kejriwal Urges HC Chief Justice to Transfer Excise Case to Impartial Bench

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and senior figure Manish Sisodia, have formally requested the transfer of the ongoing Delhi excise police case from Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma’s court to a more neutral bench. The party made this appeal in a representation submitted to Delhi High Court Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya.

In their statement, AAP leaders emphasized that recent rulings from the Supreme Court have overturned multiple orders issued by Justice Sharma in connection with the excise policy case. These developments, they argue, underscore the necessity for an impartial hearing, free from any perceived biases.

The party’s push for a different judicial bench reflects ongoing concerns about fairness and justice within the legal proceedings surrounding the excise policy. The excise policy has been a focal point of controversy and scrutiny, leading to allegations and investigations that have captured public attention and media coverage.

This appeal comes amidst a broader political narrative in Delhi, where the AAP has been vocal in expressing its displeasure with how the judicial processes have unfolded in this case. By aligning their request with the Supreme Court’s previous decisions, Kejriwal and Sisodia hope to bolster their argument for a fair trial.

As the situation evolves, all eyes will remain on the Delhi High Court as it contemplates the AAP’s request and the implications it may have on the case proceedings.
