Heartfelt Gratitude: Kavitha Thanks Family and Friends Amidst KTR’s Controversial Blame for BRS Poll Loss Linked to Delhi Liquor Case

Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha celebrated a significant legal victory on February 27, 2026, after a Delhi court discharged her from allegations related to the Delhi liquor policy case. Reflecting on this development, Kavitha claimed she emerged from the ordeal as a “spotless pearl” while expressing disappointment in her family’s lack of support during her challenging times. The court’s ruling also cleared 22 others associated with the case, with Kavitha pointing out that the court deemed the accusations as unfounded.

In her remarks following the verdict, she welcomed the clean chit and emphasized the importance of justice in the face of false accusations. Her response came amid a discussion about a post by her brother, K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). While KTR congratulated her on the verdict, he suggested that the liquor case negatively impacted the BRS’s performance in the 2023 Assembly and 2024 Parliament elections. Kavitha, however, rejected this notion, asserting that the party’s electoral defeat stemmed from deeper issues including failures to provide jobs, housing, and accusations of arrogance in leadership, rather than her legal troubles.

Kavitha questioned the absence of support from senior party leaders, including her father, former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and KTR during her time in jail. She remarked on the lack of a united front against what she deemed as false propaganda from the BJP and highlighted the emotional toll her imprisonment had on her family. Released on August 27, 2024, after being granted bail by the Supreme Court, she recounted the humiliation and pain she endured, emphasizing that no amount of compensation could erase the psychological scars left by the experience.

During this tumultuous period, Kavitha also thanked her husband and in-laws for their unwavering support. In response to KTR’s post linking her case to the BRS’s electoral losses, she urged him to conduct a candid assessment of the party’s shortcomings. “Shifting blame to one individual will not resonate positively with the public,” she stated, reinforcing that the political campaign did not revolve around her legal disputes.

Kavitha dismissed attempts to connect her arrest directly with the party’s performance in the elections, questioning the party’s strength if the downfall of its fortunes could be attributed to a single individual’s alleged misdeeds. Her emphasis on the need for internal reflection was matched by her commitment to public service, indicating her intention to launch a new political party in the coming months. She viewed the court’s ruling as a timely blessing, reaffirming her resolve to continue her political work devoid of fear of legal battles.

This recent judicial outcome marks a pivotal moment for Kavitha and the BRS as they navigate the complex political landscape in Telangana. Her experience and insight into the party’s dynamics may influence future strategies as she prepares for the next chapter in her political career.
