Two candidates have been shortlisted for the prestigious role of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity managing Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP). The candidates vying for the position are Diptendu Ghosh, Executive Director (Works) at Durgapur Steel Plant under the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in West Bengal, and S. Sakthimani, Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT).
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) is set to make the final decision on September 3. The selection process includes a video conference meeting with the candidates. An official from RINL-VSP confirmed that the process to appoint a new CMD is underway and highlighted that the current CMD, Atul Bhatt, will complete his term in November 2024.
This upcoming selection plays a crucial role in determining the future leadership of RINL-VSP, a significant entity in the Indian steel industry.
