Galaxy AI Expands Multi-Agent Ecosystem to Empower User Choice
SEOUL, Korea — Feb. 22, 2026 — Samsung Electronics said it is expanding Galaxy AI to create a more open, integrated multi-agent ecosystem that gives users more choice and control. The company announced that Galaxy AI will support multiple integrated agents and that Perplexity will be offered as an additional AI agent on upcoming flagship Galaxy devices, accessible by the voice wake phrase “Hey Plex” or via quick-access controls such as pressing and holding the side button.
Samsung cited internal research showing that people increasingly rely on multiple AI agents for different tasks, with nearly eight in 10 users now using more than two types of agents. To reflect that shift, Galaxy AI is being developed to let users pick the AI experiences that best match their needs, preferences and routines.
Unlike assistants confined to single apps, Samsung says Galaxy AI is built into the operating system through deep framework-level connections. The system-level design lets Galaxy AI understand user context, run in the background, and reduce app switching or repeated commands. Samsung also said this approach lets it curate experiences from partner services like Perplexity while keeping interactions seamless across the Galaxy environment.
Perplexity’s agent will be embedded across select Samsung apps — including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder and Calendar — and in some third-party apps, enabling smoother, multi-step workflows so users can move between tasks without manually managing separate apps.
“We’ve been committed to building an open and inclusive integrated AI ecosystem that gives users more choice, flexibility and control to get complex tasks done quickly and easily,” said Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer and Head of R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Galaxy AI acts as an orchestrator, bringing together different forms of AI into a single, natural, cohesive experience.”
Samsung said it will continue collaborating with partners to broaden its AI ecosystem and that additional details about supported devices and experiences will be announced soon. The company also noted that a Samsung Account may be required for some AI features, availability may vary by region, OS/One UI version, device model and carrier, and it does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or reliability of AI-generated outputs.
