Empowering Change: Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Welcomes New Commissioner with Vision and Resolve
G. Srijana officially assumed the role of Commissioner for the newly established Cyberabad Municipal Corporation on February 11, 2026, in a ceremony attended by Jayesh Ranjan, the Special Officer responsible for overseeing the newly formed Corporations. This transition marks a significant restructuring of municipal governance in the region, as the Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and Quthbullapur Zones were excised from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to form the new Cyberabad entity.
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation is headquartered at the National Academy of Construction in Hitex, Madhapur. The Telangana government announced the reorganization of GHMC into three separate Corporations-Cyberabad, Malkajgiri, and others-alongside a reshuffling of IAS officers across these bodies. G. Srijana, an IAS officer from the 2013 batch and former Additional Commissioner of GHMC, has been appointed to lead Cyberabad as it embarks on this new chapter.
The newly formed corporation encompasses three zones: Kukatpally, Serilingampally, and Quthbullapur. Each zone features a distinct structure of Circles and Wards, enhancing localized governance and oversight. Cyberabad comprises a total of 16 Circles and 76 Wards divided among its three zones.
In Kukatpally Zone, there are four Circles and 23 Wards. The detailed distribution includes the Madhapur Circle with six Wards, Allwyn Colony with six, Kukatpally and Moosapet each containing six and five Wards, respectively.
The Serilingampally Zone is larger, consisting of five Circles and 26 Wards. Among its Circles, Narsingi has five Wards; Ameenpur and Patancheru each have five and four Wards, respectively; Miyapur and Serilingampally each accommodate six Wards.
Quthbullapur Zone is the most extensive of the three, featuring seven Circles and a total of 27 Wards. Within this zone, the Circles are distributed as follows: Chintal with five Wards, Jeedimetla with four, Gajularamaram with four, Kompally with six, Nizampet with five, Medchal with three, and Dundigal with four.
This reshaping of local governance accompanies a broader strategy aimed at improving civic management and enhancing service delivery in a rapidly urbanizing region. With the establishment of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, local citizens can expect focused attention on their specific needs, from infrastructure development to essential services.
