Joe Jonas Assures: No ‘Blast’ Towards Ex Sophie Turner in Heartfelt New Music Release
Joe Jonas isn’t venting about his past relationship with Sophie Turner in his upcoming solo album, “Music for People Who Believe in Love,” set to release on October 18. The “Cake by the Ocean” singer opened up to Billboard about the “therapeutic” process of making his new music following his recent split from the “Game of Thrones” star.
In the interview, Jonas emphasized that his new work isn’t an attempt to criticize or expose anyone. “I’m not trying to come for anyone on this album. I’m not trying to put stuff on blast. I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for,” he shared. Despite the challenges, Jonas described the journey as both “scary at times, and also freeing.”
Reflecting on the positive aspects of his life, Jonas mentioned his daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, whom he shares with Turner. “I’ve got two beautiful kids,” he noted. “I’m a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that — but also, the journey to get here.” He described the forthcoming album as his “most personal music” yet.
During a previous appearance on the “Therapuss” podcast, Jonas discussed how he felt an emotional drive to focus on his music, without knowing where it would lead. With his brothers, Kevin and Nick Jonas, engaged in their projects, Joe seized the opportunity to work on his album intensively for a few weeks.
In May, Joe teased a new track on TikTok, hinting at his breakup with Turner. The lyrics conveyed his struggles but also emphasized gratitude and resilience. The couple, who were married for four years, separated in September 2023. Turner, now dating Peregrine Pearson, has also publicly addressed the split, emphasizing their co-parenting efforts.
Joe remains upbeat, focusing on his craft and family, leaving his past drama out of the spotlight.
