Massive Victory for Nagaur Police: 10,000 kg of Ammonium Nitrate Seized in Groundbreaking Operation!
Just days before Republic Day 2026, police in Nagaur launched a significant security operation, seizing a massive stockpile of explosive materials and arresting one suspect, according to officials on Sunday. Authorities reported this operation as one of the largest of its kind in Rajasthan, driven by reliable intelligence regarding the illegal procurement, storage, and movement of explosives within the district.
Nagaur Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachhawa confirmed that the operation was executed based on specific intelligence tips. The suspect has been identified as Suleman Khan. During a press conference, Kachhawa stated, “For some time now, the Nagaur police have received reports indicating that large quantities of explosives were being acquired, traded, and stockpiled in the district. Yesterday, a comprehensive operation was conducted, leading to the arrest of one individual, Suleman Khan, linked to this case. A formal case has been initiated under the Explosives Act and organized crime statutes.”
The scale of the operation was noteworthy, as authorities reported the seizure of approximately 10,000 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, alongside a substantial quantity of detonators, detonating wire, and other materials typically associated with mining activities. Investigators revealed that these explosives were stored at Khan’s farmhouse in Harsore village. “We recovered 10,000 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, along with detonators and other blasting materials,” Kachhawa added.
Investigators also uncovered that Suleman Khan has a documented criminal history, with three prior cases against him under the Explosives Act. While he was acquitted in one case, the others remain pending. This background raises concerns about Khan’s alleged involvement in unlawful activities related to explosives.
As authorities continue their investigation, they are working to unravel the source of the explosives, potential supply networks, and whether these materials were intended for illicit purposes. In light of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, security measures throughout Nagaur have been intensified. Police have indicated that further arrests could occur as the investigation unfolds, emphasizing the operation’s significance in maintaining public safety.
The success of this operation reflects a coordinated effort by law enforcement to combat illegal explosive activities in the region and ensure heightened security in the lead-up to national celebrations. As investigations advance, the implications of this operation will likely resonate beyond Nagaur, reinforcing the commitment to lawful conduct and public safety.
