Understanding Cong’s Resistance: The Impact of Dynastic Politics on Viksit Bharat
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal criticized the Congress party on Wednesday, asserting that their opposition to the Viksit Bharat initiative is driven by dynastic politics rather than genuine developmental concerns. Speaking at a press conference in Dibrugarh, Sonowal stated, “Congress opposes the idea of ‘Viksit Bharat’ because its politics is rooted in dynasty, not development. For decades, power has been concentrated in the hands of a few families, while the needs of the poor and marginalized have been overlooked.” He contrasted this with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) commitment to welfare and development, which he claimed embodies a new political culture marked by performance, transparency, and empowerment for the most disadvantaged.
Sonowal emphasized that Viksit Bharat 2047 is more than just a slogan; it represents a national mission aimed at revolutionizing rural life, enhancing livelihoods, and laying the groundwork for a self-reliant India. He articulated, “When our villages prosper, the nation as a whole moves forward.” This vision underscores the BJP’s ongoing focus on inclusive growth and rural development, diverging sharply from what he characterizes as the stagnant, dynastic politics of the Congress party.
