Bajali Youth Honor Zubeen Garg by Distributing 500 Saplings
Shourav Joyti Das, a young man from Bajali district in Assam, made a significant impact by distributing 500 saplings in honor of the beloved Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, celebrating the New Year with this green initiative. The saplings were planted at various temples and locations throughout the district, promoting environmental awareness in the process.
This initiative not only celebrates Zubeen Garg’s music but also acknowledges his commitment to social causes and nature. Remarkably, all the saplings were cultivated by Das on his own farm, showcasing his dedication to environmental stewardship.
Temple committees commended Das for transforming a commemorative gesture into a proactive step toward a sustainable future. Das himself remarked, “Zubeen Garg has always inspired us to love and protect nature. This small effort of distributing saplings is my way of paying tribute to him. If each of us plants and nurtures even one tree, we can create a greener and healthier future together.”
Local residents found the initiative uplifting, recognizing the vital role such efforts from the younger generation play in safeguarding nature and fostering sustainable practices across the district.
