Security Forces conducted a series of coordinated operations in Imphal East and Imphal West districts on Friday, December 26, resulting in the arrest of eight active members from various factions of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP). These operations led to the recovery of firearms, ammunition, communication devices, and other incriminating materials.
The first operation targeted an active cadre of KCP (Ibungo Ngangom), identified as Kshetrimayum Binoy Singh, known as Kebi, aged 41. He was apprehended at a farmhouse situated in Langol Game Village Zone-III under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West district. Authorities recovered a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card during his arrest.
In a separate operation on the same day, Security Forces arrested three active cadres of KCP (Taibanganba) who were residing at the Langol Game Village Relief Camp in Zone-II. The individuals were identified as Amom Somendro Singh, alias Kangleibung, aged 32, from Wangoo Ahallup Makha Leikai in Bishnupur district; RK Bishworjit Singh, known as Boinao, aged 38, from Nambol Thiyam Makha Leikai in Bishnupur district; and Ningthoujam Santosh Singh, aged 30, from Churachandpur Saikot Zaion Veng. Two mobile handsets were also seized from them.
In another significant breakthrough, four active cadres of KCP (PWG) were arrested in the Andro Leitanpekpham area under Andro Police Station in Imphal East district. The arrested individuals included Ningthoujam Birjit Meitei, alias Tocha, aged 36; Pangabam Meiraba Meitei, known as Nongpokngakpa, aged 32; Mutum Norin Meetei, aged 33; and Ningombam Robi Meitei, alias Akhup, aged 32, all residents of Imphal East district.
From their possession, Security Forces recovered a .32 caliber pistol with a magazine, three live rounds of .32 ammunition, four mobile phones, an Aadhaar card, a sky-blue Santro car with registration number MN01W 9427, and two Baofeng radio sets.
