New Anime "The Dialect of the Girl I Fell in Love With in Okinawa" Drops Teaser Trailer
The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Egumi Sora’s manga, Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hōgen Sugite Tsurasugiru (The Dialect of the Girl I Fell in Love With in Okinawa is Too Difficult to Deal With), has just released a promotional video. The teaser showcases the series’ main characters: Teruaki, Hina, and Kana.
The Cast:
- Etsuko Kozakura voices Oki Memo Shisha, modeled after Okinawa’s traditional lion statue, which introduces Okinawan culture throughout the series.
- Tarusuke Shingaki will be the narrator.

Storyline:
Set in Okinawa, the romantic comedy follows Teruaki Nakamura, a Tokyo transplant who falls for Hina Kyan. However, Teruaki struggles to understand Hina’s Okinawan dialect. Enter Kana Higa, Hina’s friend, who translates for Teruaki but harbors her own feelings for him.
The manga started on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch website in January 2020 and has gained significant popularity, with 350,000 copies in circulation. The first volume was released in July 2020, with the eighth volume published in February 2023.
