Today, August 21, 2024, the Reservation Bachao Sangharsh Samiti has called for a Bharat Bandh in response to the Supreme Court’s recent decision concerning reservations for SC/ST communities. While banks across the nation will remain operational today, they are set for a long weekend closure from August 24 to August 26 due to the fourth Saturday and the national holiday of Krishna Janmashtami.
Despite the bandh, law enforcement is on high alert, ready to take necessary actions to maintain order during the protests. While business establishments have been urged to shut down, there remains ambiguity about their participation and the overall impact.
