Terrifying Encounter: Rajkummar Rao Recalls Spine-Chilling Ghost Sighting During ‘Stree’ Shoot
Rajkummar Rao may have encountered supernatural entities while filming “Stree” and its sequel. In a recent interview, the actor shared an eerie experience involving an unusual photo taken during a night shoot for the 2018 film. The photo, captured by a crew member, revealed a shadowy figure perched on an old fort wall at 2:45 am, despite no one being there at the time. This incident occurred while filming on a reportedly haunted street in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, despite local warnings.
Director Amar Kaushik previously mentioned that the shoot was plagued by numerous technical difficulties, such as flickering lights and shattering bulbs. These challenges did not deter the cast and crew, who pressed on to achieve the desired shots.
“Stree,” featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has been a critical and commercial success since its release on August 15, grossing ₹204 crore in its first four days. Its sequel, “Stree 2,” has also performed remarkably, earning ₹283 crore globally during its opening weekend. The sequel continues the story within the horror-comedy universe created by producer Dinesh Vijan, which includes other titles like “Bhediya” and “Munjya.” In “Stree 2,” Rao and his friends, along with Kapoor’s mysterious character, confront a new ghostly threat known as Sarkata, a headless apparition.
These films have captivated audiences with their blend of horror and comedy, solidifying their place in modern Indian cinema.
