Heartbreaking Raksha Bandhan Tragedy: 19-Year-Old Fatally Shot in Faridabad Home, Accused Flees
A 19-year-old college student, Arun, was shot dead at his home in Faridabad’s Adarsh Nagar area on Monday afternoon, police reported. Arun, a second-year architecture student at Deenbandhu College in Rohtak’s Sampla, had come home to celebrate Rakshabandhan. He lived in a rental property in Sampla and had returned home the previous evening.
The tragic incident occurred around 12 pm when Arun’s parents were out at the market, leaving him at home with his brother and sister. According to Arun’s brother, Ajay Kumar, two men arrived on a motorcycle; one stayed outside while the other entered the house. After a brief argument where Arun refused to step outside, the intruder allegedly shot him in the chest with a pistol. Despite being critically injured, Arun managed to alert his siblings, but the assailants fled the scene on their motorcycle.
Arun was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared dead. A murder case has been registered at Adarsh Nagar police station, and the suspects have been booked under relevant sections of the BNS and the Arms Act.
Adarsh Nagar SHO Amit Kumar stated that the police are analyzing CCTV footage from the area to identify the accused, and a crime branch team is actively investigating the incident. The body has been handed over to Arun’s family after a postmortem. The police have assured that the culprits will be apprehended soon.
This incident has shaken the local community, where Arun’s family has resided since 1997, originally hailing from a village in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh.
