New Delhi, Aug 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Schoolchildren
Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan on Monday with numerous schoolchildren who visited his residence to tie rakhis on his wrist, creating memorable moments filled with joy and gratitude.
The interaction was not just ceremonial; the children engaged in lively conversations with the Prime Minister. Some asked for his advice on contributing to nation-building, while others recited poems and bhajans. PM Modi responded warmly, answering questions about topics ranging from his favorite color to tips on staying fit. A video released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) showed children’s excitement as they lined up at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, their faces beaming with happiness.
A highlight of the celebration was a uniquely designed rakhi featuring a picture of PM Modi and his mother Heeraben, centered around the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.’ An enthusiastic PM Modi praised the girl who tied the rakhi, saying, “You made a very beautiful rakhi.”
Many students brought flowers, sweets, and handmade portraits of the Prime Minister, expressing their excitement and joy at meeting him for the first time. “I am feeling overjoyed as I will meet him for the first time,” one girl exclaimed, while another shared, “He looked like a friend to me, I felt very good.”
During the interaction, a girl asked how they could contribute to his vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). The Prime Minister advised them to keep themselves and society fit and healthy, emphasizing, “Whatever we do, there should be a feeling of greater well-being for the society.” Later, he even gave an autograph to a girl, humorously granting her request for ‘one more’ for her sister.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi extended his heartfelt wishes to the nation via X, emphasizing the festival’s role in symbolizing the love between brothers and sisters and wishing happiness, prosperity, and good fortune to all.
