Blockbuster Showdown: Varun Dhawan & Janhvi Kapoor’s Film Soars Toward Milestone Amidst Kantara Clash!
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Box Office: Day 8 Update as Kantara Dominates
Hold on to your popcorn, folks! Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari-featuring our beloved Varun Dhawan and the effervescent Janhvi Kapoor-has reached a pivotal moment in its box office journey. The film, which reunites the duo after their successful OTT hit Bawaal, invites us into the amusing misadventures of its charming leads, Sunny and Tulsi. Their contrasting personalities create a narrative tapestry that’s equal parts comedy and chaos, but can they hold their own against a formidable rival?
Enter the cinematic juggernaut, Kantara! Rishab Shetty’s magnum opus has proven itself a financial powerhouse, eclipsing Sunny Sanskari’s endeavors at the box office. Mixed reviews might have greeted Sunny and Tulsi upon their release; however, they’ve struggled to surpass the Rs 50 crore mark in India. As of now, after eight days of theatrical showcase, this romantic comedy has accumulated a rather tepid total of Rs 40.75 crore-a far cry from the heights they had hoped to reach.
Day one saw an optimistic opening with Rs 9.25 crore, but the excitement rapidly dwindled on day two, plummeting to Rs 5.5 crore. A brief resurgence over the weekend saw the film earn Rs 7.5 crore each on Saturday and Sunday, before succumbing to the Monday blues with earnings tapering off to between Rs 2-3 crore. A slight uptick was observed on Tuesday thanks to promotional ticket pricing, bringing in Rs 3.25 crore, but it faced yet another dip to Rs 2.25 crore by Wednesday. By the eighth day, the film earned just Rs 2 crore, while Kantara spectacle has already surged past the formidable Rs 300 crore barrier at the domestic box office.
Anchored by a star-studded cast, including Maneish Paul, Abhinav Sharma, and Akshay Oberoi, and produced under Karan Johar’s illustrious Dharma Productions, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari follows the heart-wrenching tale of Sunny (played by Dhawan). He finds himself crushed when his girlfriend Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) bows to parental pressure, opting for wealth over love with Vikram (Rohit Saraf).
As the silver screen continues to spin its captivating tales, one can’t help but wonder-will our sunny protagonists find their way back to the limelight, or has Kantara stolen more than just their thunder?
Stay tuned, dear readers, for the twists and turns that lie ahead in this cinematic saga!
