Guwahati: Police Nab Couple with Heroin Consignment in Bongaigaon, Assam
In a significant drug bust, law enforcement authorities in Bongaigaon, Assam, detained a couple in possession of a substantial heroin consignment. Based on credible intelligence, the police intercepted a motorcycle on State Highway 2 at Deohati, leading to the apprehension of two suspects—Zahirul Haque and a female accomplice.
Upon inspection, officers discovered the illicit substance concealed within three soap boxes. Preliminary investigations suggest that the 119 grams of heroin, with an estimated market value in the lakhs, were destined for distribution in the Abhayapuri Deohati area.
